The Delaware SWCD is pleased to announce that Maple Lane Farms was named the Cooperator of the Year.  Maple Lane Farms is operated by brothers Charles (Jackie) and Ron Miley.  The 221-acre farm was originally purchased by Charles’ and Ron’s grandparents in the early 1940s, and the brothers took over operation of their parents’ farm in 1997.  Corn and soybean crops and Christmas trees round out the products produced on the farm.  The Mileys employ several conservation practices, including two sets of water and sediment control basins,  six grass waterways, and cover crops (rye).  The farm lies within the drainage maintenance project, Potter Ditch, which was petitioned to go on maintenance in 1962.  A Cracker Barrel gift card was awarded to the brothers.  Congratulations, Maple Lane Farms!
