The Natural Resources Area at the 2019 Delaware County Fair will serve as host to entertainment and activities for all ages.  A jam-packed schedule includes some popular favorites from past fairs, as well as new programs.  The Division of Wildlife Archery Trailer and the Johnstown Community Sportsman’s Club BB Shooting Range return to develop outdoor skills in youth participants.  The ever-popular Cabela’s outdoor cooking demonstration, where guests sample food prepared with outdoor cookery, will delight the taste buds.  Activities include “make it/take it” buckeye necklaces (just in time for game day) and mini pumpkin painting.  Celebrating his 75th anniversary, Smokey Bear will lord over the natural resources area, standing as a testament to sound conservation practices.

Be sure to attend our new event, a detect and search demonstration featuring the Ohio Division of Wildlife’s new K-9 unit.  This program proves that our newest Division of Wildlife law enforcement officer has the right “chops” for the job.  Another new activity, the conservation putt-putt golf course, will test your putting (and conservation knowledge) abilities.  The evening of Sunday, September 15th brings our annual awards ceremony and kid-friendly movie, Ferdinand, to the park.  Observe the many native wildflowers and annual flower beds and learn how pollinators greatly influence our food production (and quality of life).  Come visit our beautifully maintained green oasis in the heart of the fairgrounds (south side of the Junior Fair Swine and Lamb Barn).  Plan your day at the fair by viewing our 2019 Fair Schedule of Events offered from Saturday, September 14th through Wednesday, September 18th.
